Pop Warner football registration underway
TRAVERSE CITY — The YMCA and TC Youth Football programs are now accepting registration for the Pop Warner Football league.
The tackle football league is open to all boys and girls in two different divisions. Players from age 8-10 will be grouped together and players from age 10-12 will play in the other division.
This is a travel football league that will play both home and away games at any of the 30 other towns that participate.
Practices begin August 13 and the first games take place on September 8. The season ends on October 20 and each team will play seven Saturday games. All uniforms and equipment are included in the registration fee.

3-on-3 basketball tourney at Kingsley Heritage Days
KINGSLEY — The Kingsley Heritage Days will be hosting a 3-on-3 basketball tournament.
There will be youth and adult divisions. Players in grades 3-12 will face off and adults from age 18-88 will compete.
The registration fee for each team is $100. The tourney will take place at Kingsley High School on Sunday, July 22 at 10 a.m. Forms can be found on the Heritage Days Facebook page under the events tab.
Benzie hosting youth soccer camp
BENZONIA — The Benzie Soccer Camp will be held July 23-26.
The is held from from 6-7:30 p.m. each evening at the Benzonia Memorial Park and costs $30 per player. Varsity boys and girls players and coaches help run the camp. Each player receives a ball and T-shirt.

Glen Lake Yacht Club to host regatta
GLEN LAKE — The Glen Lake Yacht Club will be hosting the 2018 Butterfly National and Open Class Championship Regatta July 17-19, an event held at the GLYC every four years.
As in past years, the GLYC anticipates hosting several yacht clubs, including over 60 sailors, crew and their families who will travel to Glen Arbor for the regatta.
Some of the local teams include sailors and boats from Grand Rapids, Torch Lake, Spring Lake, White Lake and Glen Lake Yacht Club.
The event will kick-off on Glen Lake on Tuesday, July 17 with the tune-up race scheduled to start at 3 p.m., followed by two days of competition on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. and Thursday at 10 a.m.
The junior division championship is open to all skippers and crew under age 17 and requires that each boat carry a skipper and a crew. The open division championship is open to sailors of all ages, with no crew required. Contact Becky Kremin at 773-480-7426 with any questions.
