EAST JORDAN — East Jordan led Onaway 4-3 after four innings before the Cardinals rallied for an 11-4 regional semifinal victory Saturday.

Onaway dropped a 7-0 decision to Rogers City in the Division 4 regional finals. Rogers City secured a finals spot with a 6-1 win over St. Ignace.

Molly Kitson had two hits — including a double — and drove in three runs in the setback. Jaden McCoy had the Red Devils' only other hits, while Katelyn Crawford walked twice.

Amber Gibson tossed five innings, striking out three and surrendering six hits and four earned runs, while McCoy closed out the final inning with a strikeout, two hits and one earned run allowed.

Boyne City's postseason run ended at the hands of Gladstone for the fifth time in the last seven seasons.

The Braves then lost to Negaunee 15-0 in the regional title game. The Miners play Standish-Sterling in Tuesday's quarterfinal at Gaylord.

Kingsley 1

Kingsley's late-season resurgence was stopped by eventual regional champion Negaunee 14-1. The game was 4-1 heading into the final inning before the Miners broke it open.

The Stags ended the season with a 16-7 stretch after a 9-9 start. They lose three starters and five seniors total.

"We have a huge crew of eighth, ninth and 10th graders that are playing travel," Kingsley head coach Jamie Hawkins said. "We'll definitely be decent next year."
