HARBOR SPRINGS — Traverse City's West's girls have three skiers in the top 10 after the morning session of the Division 1 state championships at Boyne Highlands.

West's Kitt Hornbogen Morgan Culp and Claire Podges placed seventh through ninth in the morning's slalom competition.

TC Central's Maggie Dutmers is 10th and teammate Maddy Zimmerman is in 13th.

West is the only girls team with more than one competitor in the top 10, boding well for the Titans' aspirations of bringing back a state title.

The Titans' Maya Breneman is 23rd and Central's Haley Klein 24th in the finals, in which 67 of the state's top skiers are competing.

In boys, West's Austin Skibowski is 10th after the morning's giant slalom runs, with Central placing four in the top 15.

Lars Hornburg, Tyler Sepanik, Teague Tompkins and Brendan Wells are 12th-15th, with Dirk Phelpt in 17th.

West's Evan Culp took 23rd and Central's Max Ranger was tied for 24th.
