Prep roundup: Petoskey falters in state quarterfinal 4-1; Manton, Boyne City eliminated in regional semifinals

GAYLORD — The Petoskey Northmen (18-9-1) fell to the Marquette Redmen 4-1 in the Division 2 state quarterfinal match in Gaylord on Tuesday.

Petoskey's lone goal in the quarterfinal was scored by Kyle Hebner and was assisted by Brendan Baker 16 minutes, 20 seconds into the second period.

The Northmen were down 2-0 after one period and 3-1 after two.

Petoskey set a new program best 18 wins this season and won it's first ever regional title last week.
