Gateway’s Mark Brackman allowed just two runs in seven innings Tuesday night in taming the Traverse City Beach Bums 7-2 in a Frontier League game.

Brackman improved to 2-0 on the season with a 1.35 ERA.

Jason Codiroli had three of the six hits for Traverse City. He drove in one run on a home run and scored twice.

Down 1-0, the Grizzlies plated four runs in the fourth and never looked back.

Catcher Landon Hernandez paced the Grizzlies with three hits, including two homers. He drove in four runs. Charlie Lisk and Joe Agreste also went deep for Gateway.

Justin Mazur suffered the loss for Traverse City. He surrendered five runs in 5.1 innings. Justin Anderson gave up the final two runs in the eighth.

The two teams meet again today with Andy Paulun taking the hill for Traverse City and B.J. Dalie for Gateway.
