ALLENDALE — Traverse City Central girls traveled to Grand Valley State University Thursday for an early-season indoor track meet.

Among the Trojans’ highest finishers were Mady Basch (ninth) in the mile run with a time of 5:31.09, Erin Lipp’s seventh-place finish in the 400-meter run (1:03.28) and Nicole Pouliot’s 11th-place finish in the high jump (four feet, eight inches).

Jaylnn Brumfield led her teammates with Central’s top 60-meter hurdle time (11.02), Savannah Champion ran the team’s best 60-meter dash (8.51), 200-meter run (28.58) and was part of the 4x300-meter relay with Shannon Fiegel, Baily Versluise and Lipp (3:10.)

Hannah Keiser paced the Trojans in the 800 (2:42.15), Baily Versluise did so in the long jump (14-1) and Grace Anne Tarse in the pole vault (8-0).

The team of Keizer, Shaylee McAuliffe, Grace Failor and Tarsa ran the 4x600-meter relay in 7:38.47.

Indoor track and field opportunity

TRAVERSE CITY — Any coaches who have athletes who want to take part in a non-team, time trial indoor track and field invitational at Traverse City Central High School should contact Central boys head coach John Lober at loberjo@gmail.com.
