TRAVERSE CITY — Friday's sunny skies and warmer weather brought hundreds of people out to the slopes as the ski season officially got underway. Although Nub's Nob has been open since Nov. 17 — it's earliest opening since Nov. 9, 1991 — General Manager Ben Doornbos estimated a thousand skiers took to the hills and trails the day after Thanksgiving.
TRAVERSE CITY — Mother Nature dumped an early Christmas present on local skiers and snowboarders.
