I would like to thank Becky Rogan for her essay, “Rules provide opportunity for input,” published in Monday’s Record-Eagle.
Ms. Rogan offers a clear, three-step pathway to conflict resolution that, in its simplicity, can contain and defuse anger and noise and help people move on to common ground.
This stuff should be taught in all of our schools, and I know it has been taught in some local private schools.
TCAPS would do well to hire Ms. Rogan’s “Conflict Resolution Solutions” and they can start modeling her strategy by making its board and assistant superintendent adhere to these steps.
Perhaps then we might be able to hang on to the next competent, intelligent superintendent longer than pumpkin season.
