Wine Spectator recognizes Aerie, Rowe

ACME — Grand Traverse Resort and Spa’s Aerie Restaurant & Lounge received its third consecutive Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. Wine Spectator magazine gives its Award of Excellence to restaurants with wine lists featuring at least 90 selections. It is the third consecutive year Aerie has been recognized.

The magazine's award of excellence this year recognized 2,447 restaurants whose wine lists feature a well-chosen assortment of quality producers along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style. Two businesses in Harbor Springs also received the Award of Excellence: The New York Restaurant and Vernales Restaurant.

The Rowe, in Ellsworth, received the magazine’s Best of Award of Excellence — for the seventh year running. It is among 1,244 restaurants that received the 2019 designation, which honors wine programs that go a step further — it recognizes lists that display excellent breadth across multiple regions and/or significant vertical depth of top wines, along with superior presentation.
