TRAVERSE CITY — Starting Friday, traffic on Sixth Street will shift north to a new street in front of the Cowell Family Cancer Center.
The new and still unnamed street is between Beaumont Place and Madison Street. A crane is expected to arrive on Friday and remain in place for a few weeks on Sixth Street between the entrance to the cancer center’s main lobby and Madison Street.
There still will be limited parking in front of the cancer center and free valet parking for visitors will continue, said Steve Tongue, vice president of facilities for Munson Healthcare.
The work is part of Munson's master facility plan and northern expansion project that included construction of a new 470-spot visitor parking deck that opened in October.
