TRAVERSE CITY -- A Texas man faces an assault charge after he allegedly beat up his girlfriend in a local hotel.
Police arrested the suspect, 56, Tuesday morning at Park Place Hotel in Traverse City.
The victim, 40, of Flint, told police that her boyfriend allegedly choked and dragged her around the hotel room during an argument.
She suffered injuries to her neck, hand and legs, but did not require hospitalization, police said.
Authorities believe alcohol was a factor.
He remains in the Grand Traverse County Jail, as he awaits his arraignment.
