TRAVERSE CITY — A federal jury convicted Steven Ingersoll, a founder of a local charter school, of three counts of tax fraud but acquitted him on more serious charges of wire fraud. 

Ingersoll's attorney Jan Geht said jurors announced their verdict today shortly before 1:30 p.m. He said a sentencing hearing before U.S. District Judge Thomas Ludington is scheduled for June 16.
