TRAVERSE CITY — Northwestern Michigan College's International Affairs Forum will hold two events next week about the recent terror attacks in Paris.

IAF co-Chair Jack Segal will explore the role mass communications, technology and social networks played in the Paris attacks, the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and other recent acts of terrorism during an extended education class called "The New Face of Terror."

The class is scheduled for Jan. 21 from 1 to 4 pm and costs $39. Those interested in attending must register through the college's extended education services. Another section of the class will be offered March 9.

The IAF also will team up with UpNorth TV's In Focus  television show to host a program on issues related to the Paris terror attacks on Jan. 22 from 8 to 9 p.m. The show will be broadcast on chanel 189.
