For approximately 57 years prominent local leader Perry Hannah’s businesses included a grist mill on the south side of the Boardman River just east of the Union Street bridge on Union Street in Traverse City. The mill was destroyed by fire in 1926. A 1903 local commercial publication indicated the facility then employed 10 workers and was a year-round enterprise.
