Traverse City is fortunate to have a number of older buildings that survived and continue to grace the skyline. These two images capture one of those buildings. The circa-1900 picture shows railroad workers celebrating Labor Day at what was then Beamish Groceries on South Union Street. The other picture shows the same building as it looks today. These images are provided by the Traverse Area Historical Society in collaboration with the Traverse Area District Library. Please email any comments or questions to contact@traversehistory.org.
