Fan Food Contest winner announced
TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City Pit Spitters Fan Food Contest winner was Stacy Hovorka, from Muskegon. She received the most votes for her Triple Crown nachos, which are nacho cheese Doritos with shredded cheese, cherry barbecue, pulled pork and sour cream. This item is available at ballpark concession stands this season. Hovorka also receives four tickets and a chance to throw the first pitch at a game.
LAKE ANN — Lake Ann Lions Club serves a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon May 26 at the Old Township Hall. Adults eat for $6, students for $4.
‘Share the Sweet’ program begins
ACME — Aerie Restaurant & Lounge begins the “Share the Sweet” program in June. The restaurant plans to donate $1 from every dessert sold to a local nonprofit each month. The 2019 recipients include Cherryland Humane Society, Women’s Resource Center, Michael’s Place, Reigning Liberty Ranch, For Love of Water (FLOW), Make-A-Wish Michigan and the Father Fred Foundation.
Men’s group serves dinner
LAKE ANN — Lake Ann United Methodist Church Men’s Group hosts a barbecue pork dinner from 5-8 p.m. June 1. The menu includes macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, rolls, desserts and beverages. A free-will offering is accepted. Proceeds help the church pay its mortgage.
GLEN ARBOR — Blu serves a pop-up dinner at 5:30 and 8 p.m. June 3. A five-course tasting menu is presented by Chef Randy Chamberlain. Tickets are $65 per guest. Reservations: 231-334-2530.
