Coastal strategies conversation

TRAVERSE CITY — Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation hosts a free coastal zone management event from 9-11:30 a.m. May 16 at NMC Great Lakes Water Studies Institute. The morning features presentations by experts from Land Information Access Association, University of Michigan, Michigan Technological University and Northwestern Michigan College. Annual Tails to Trails

WILLIAMSBURG — The annual Tails to Trails 5K run/walk is set for 9 a.m. May 18 at the Vasa Pathway. The event includes professional photos, dog goodie bags and prizes from local pet-friendly businesses. Entry is $25 for individuals and $50 for families. Registration is open till 5 p.m. May 17. Arts and Crafts Fair

EMPIRE — The Arts and Crafts Fair goes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 18 at the United Methodist Church. Local artisans offer jewelry, rock art, candles and other items. Lunch is also available for purchase. Admission is free.
