PESHAWBESTOWN -- One candidate and three voters challenged election results for the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians.
Two-term incumbent Chairman Robert Kewaygoshkum beat challenger Derek Bailey with about 53 percent of the votes, according to the unofficial totals in the May 21 election. Bailey challenged the results, citing problems at the Benzie County voting precinct and an e-mail that was sent out the day before the election that contained allegations against him.
Three voters also filed challenges for similar reasons.
Certification of election results, which was scheduled for today, will be postponed.
