TRAVERSE CITY — SwingShift and the Stars Dance-Off for Charity ended its season with a total of $270,978 raised for six area charities. Traverse Bay Childrens Advocacy Center came out on top with $75, 534, followed by Jubilee House with $54,950 and Grand Traverse Dyslexia Association with $40,461. Other totals are: Traverse City Music Boosters, $38,062; Special Olympics Michigan — Area Two; $31,348; and Communities in Schools of Northwest Michigan, $30,623. The dance competition ended Dec. 16, but charities had 30 more days to bring in their final dollars in order to tax advantage of year-end donations.
The results were announced Thursday at a season wrapup party.
