TRAVERSE CITY — West Senior High School Academic Boosters hosts a silent auction fundraiser April 24-25 during the Student-Led Conferences. Proceeds support scholarships for the Class of 2019. The April 26 fundraiser dinner is canceled.

Rappers set to perform this summer

TRAVERSE CITY — Rapper Nelly is scheduled to perform July 3 during the National Cherry Festival. Montel Jordan and Chingy join him on the Pepsi Bay Side Music Stage. General admission is $35; reserved seats are $50. The VIP Deck Experience costs $135 and includes adult beverages and a buffet meal. Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. April 26. Medication drop off

TRAVERSE CITY — Michigan State Police hosts the spring National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 27. Liquids, inhalers, patches and syringes are not accepted. Drop off unwanted or unused medications to the Grand Traverse Mall, Acme Township Hall, Blair Township Hall, East Bay Metro Fire Department, Sgt. Dennis Finch Law Enforcement Center, Peninsula Township Fire Department, Leelanau County Sheriff’s Office, Paradise Township Emergency Services, Elk Rapids Police Department and Fife Lake Township Fire Department.

Tailgate Party

BEULAH — COGNiTiON Science and Discovery Center hosts a Tailgate Party from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 27 at the new building, 232 Michigan Ave. Families are invited for a bake sale, silent auction, games and grilled food. People can also help decorate the new facility.

TRAVERSE CITY — Central High School Athletic Boosters hosts the Trojan Nash Bash Fundraiser from 7-11 p.m. April 27 at City Opera House. Veteran presentation

TRAVERSE CITY — Le Grande Traverse Society of Children of the American Revolution hosts a presentation at 7 p.m. April 29 at American Legion Post 35. State Society President Alice Kraatz speaks to members of the Grand Traverse Area Veterans Coalition. The 2019-2020 Michigan C.A.R. project “To Honor, To Remember” aims to raise funds for Vietnam veterans to take an Honor Flight.

Impact 100 grants available

TRAVERSE CITY — Impact 100 Traverse City invites nonprofits in the five-county area to apply for one of the three $101,333 grants. Hope Not Handcuffs seeks volunteers

TRAVERSE CITY — Grand Traverse County program Hope Not Handcuffs seeks volunteers to help individuals complete intake paperwork, call substance abuse treatment providers and support individuals until a treatment option is found.
