ONEKAMA — The Christmas season starts Saturday, Nov. 23, in Onekama.

TRAVERSE CITY — Unity of Traverse City invites the community to a Communion Service and Thanksgiving potluck on Sunday, Nov. 23.

Dinner, author

TRAVERSE CITY — MidEast: JustPeace and the Episcopal Peace Fellowship of Grace Episcopal Church will host a potluck dinner and an evening with Josh Ruebner, author of “Shattered Hopes: Obama’s Failure to Broker Israeli-Palestinian Peace.”

The meal will start at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at Grace Episcopal Church, 341 Washington St. Ruebner’s program starts at 7 p.m. Admission is free and the public is welcome. Silent film

ACME — The Music House Museum, 7377 U.S. 31 North, will present the final silent film of the season on Saturday, Nov. 30.

The 1927 film “It,” starring Clara Bow, will be shown at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. with organ accompaniment by Stephan Warner. Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for senior citizens and $5 for students. They are available at or by calling 938-9300.

Call for art

TRAVERSE CITY — Intermediate to advanced artists in the area are invited to participate in the third annual “Perspective” juried art exhibit sponsored by Bay Pointe Community Church.

The theme is “Community — What’s Your Connection?” All media types are welcome and there is a $25 entry fee for up to three entries. Art must be submitted between Feb. 24 and 28.
