Book Sale April 8-12
ALDEN — Alden District Library hosts its Book Sale from April 8-12 at Helena Township Community Center. Browse DVDs, CDs, VHS tapes, puzzles and other items. The sale goes from noon to 5 p.m. Monday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.
RAPID CITY — The Antrim Photography Workshop goes from 5:30-7:30 p.m. April 8 at Seven Bridges Scenic Pathway. Explore spring photo opportunities. If it rains, meet at Helena Township Community Center for a “Tips and Tricks” discussion.
Sexual Assault Awareness Week
TRAVERSE CITY — The NMC Office of Student Life sponsors activities throughout Sexual Assault Awareness Week, April 8-11. Learn about topics like consent, obtain resources and more.
• April 8 — Nacho Macho Man discussion at 6 p.m. in the East Hall basement
• April 9 — Take Back the Night march and rally at 5 p.m. at the Hagerty Center
• April 10 — “Can I Kiss You?” program at 6:30 p.m. at Milliken Auditorium
• April 11 — Miss Michigan 2018 Emily Sioma speaks on “Solace and Solidarity” at 6 p.m. at Milliken Auditorium
TRAVERSE CITY — Grand Traverse Humanists host Tony Anderson at 7 p.m. April 8 at Traverse Area District Library. Anderson, general manager of Cherryland Electric Cooperative, speaks about the utility company and energy issues. The public is welcome to this free event.
