Albert "Al" M. Martin, 72, of Frankfort, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at Munson Medical Center.
He was born in St. Johns on Feb. 20, 1939. On Dec. 2, 1972, Al married Makara Merrill, who survives.
Al was a proud man who took pride in his work. He was always on the move whether he was puttering around the yard, in the house repairing electronics or surfing the web on the computer.
He was a member of UAW Local 1618 and the AMA Michigan Hill Climbers Association.
He is also survived by his sons, John Michael (Geraldine) Trayer, of Benzonia, and Charles Alonzo (Patricia) Trayer III, of Pueblo West, Colo.; grandchildren, Miranda, Ryan, Brandon, Devin, Tyler, Charles IV and Arriyahnna; great-grandchild, Hailey; and sister, Dora Peck.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Donnie.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 11, at the Jowett Family Funeral Home in Frankfort. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at the funeral home. The Rev. Russell Merrill will officiate the services. Burial will be in Gilmore Twp. Cemetery.
