Kingsley won its first Mid-Michigan Conference wrestling tournament Saturday, edging Pine River 212-208.
The Stags had six individual champions -- Trevor Voice at 103, Austin Sanchez at 130, Gabe Collins at 135, Joey Leach at 140, Cary Tompkins at 189 and Tyler Croton at heavyweight.
Finishing second for the Stags were Steve Fultz at 125, Tyler Laijko at 145, Kirk Turner at 160 and Mike Olney at 171. Taking third were Calvin Montgomery at 112 and Lane Griffith at 215.
Manton finished fourth with 96 points.
The Rangers had champs in David Ashley (112) and Corey Webb (145) while Crayton Dalkner (189) was second and James Riffle (130) and Rick VanDyke (152) each took third. Scott Babb (119) and Mark Perry (160) finished fourth.
Traverse City Central's B team had one medalist in heavyweight Vai Taula, who finished third with three pins.
WRESTLING
Titans sweep pair of matches
Traverse City West rallied for a pair of victories, beating Mount Pleasant 39-36 and Alma 48-33.
The Titans trailed Mount Pleasant 24-12 when they rattled off five straight wins -- Dee Kirksey at 171 (pin), Zack Skeels at 189 (pin), Morgan Tolle at 215 (pin), Matt Town at heavyweight (pin) and Mike Ostrom at 103. Ostrom won on a last-second takedown, 6-4.
Brad Gillison won a major decision at 145 while Ian Hurst won by pin at 125.
Alma bolted to a 15-0 lead before West rallied.
Trojans fourth at Jenison
Traverse City Central wrestled to a fourth-place finish at Saturday's Jenison Invitational.
The Trojans had a 39-33 win over Forest Hills Eastern and a 45-27 victory over Coopersville before losing to Allendale (57-18) and Muskegon Reeths-Puffer (45-31).
In the win over Forest Hills Eastern, the match was tied at 33-33 going into the final bout, when 160-pouner Sheldon Berry earned a first-round pin.
Connor Kerndt was 4-0 at 103 pounds along with 125-pounder Paco Diaz. Berry, Max Walker (188) and Kaleb Barrientoz (215) had 3-1 records while Vatsana Phengthamkip (130), Alex Lazar (145), Zach Roberge (152) and Kyle McLachlan (171) were 2-2.
Elks have one champ at LMC Meet
Elk Rapids had one champion in heavyweight Garrett Foss during Saturday's Lake Michigan Conference meet.
The Elks had a second-place showing from 189-pounder Tyler Shananaquet while Mike Batdorf (135), Brian Turner (145) and Josh Holden (160) finished third.

Eric Rivard scored four goals to power Traverse City West to a 6-2 win over Grand Rapids Catholic Central.
The Titans (12-7) fell behind 2-0 before rattling off six unanswered goals.
Rivard was the story. He scored two breakaway goals on one shift.
"He had a great game," West coach Jeremy Rintala said. "He just took over."
Jacob Longstreet and Shane Totten also tallied. Totten, Rivard, Frank Gilbert, Dave Hanrahan, Anthony Fernandez, Vinnie Pietrangelo, Jake Nickerson and P.J. Dienes all had an assist.
Nate Wilson stopped 11 shots in goal.
West dropped a 2-1 decision to Portage Central on Friday night. Totten netted the lone Titan goal.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Suttons Bay 64
Buckley 51
Buckley beat Suttons Bay once this year and almost did it again Saturday.
However, the Norsemen erased a 32-20 halftime deficit for a 64-51 Northwest Conference win.
Suttons Bay (11-2, 8-1 NWC) cut the lead to 40-37 heading into the fourth thanks to 11 third-quarter points from Dwaun Anderson.
Then, David Wheelock and Ben Walters each scored nine to give the Norse the win.
Anderson finished with 23 points while Walters had 11 and five rebounds.
Josh Ledford had 20 points for the Bears.

Glen Lake 52
Caleb Moss had 20 points to lead Benzie Central to a 61-52 Northwest Conference win over Glen Lake.
The Huskies (7-6, 6-3 NWC) led 30-19 at the break and 41-34 heading into the fourth quarter.
Moss added 14 points and six blocks while Jacob Moilanen had 16 points.

Leland picked up a 58-47 Northwest Conference win over Frankfort.
The Comets (9-5, 5-4NWC) had 18 points and five assists from Eric Larsen while Galen Whittaker had 18 points and 13 rebounds.
The Panthers (9-5, 5-4 NWC) were paced by 17 points from Wade Luxford.

Tyler Denike scored 25 points as Forest Area beat Johannesburg-Lewiston 70-55 in Ski Valley play.
Cullen Lane added 15 points and Mitch Core and Carl Snyder 12 for the Warriors (11-2, 9-1).

Benzie Central clinched at least a share of the Northwest Conference title with a 48-27 win over Glen Lake.
The Huskies (14-1, 11-0) led 25-12 at half and then outscored Glen Lake 15-5 in the third quarter to put it out of reach.
Maria Blazejewski led Benzie with 22 points, five steals and four rebounds. Sara Thurkettle added 10 points.

Traverse City Central's freshmen earned a 43-24 win over Suttons Bay's JV.

Megan Couturier and Emily Couturier each netted 15 points as Leelanau Warriors for Christ Home School beat the North Grand Rapids Grizzlies 54-51.
Casie Plamondon added 12 for the Warriors (7-3).
