Team has bye before Thirlby Field opener

WILLOW RUN — The Traverse City Wolves are 2-0.

TC won in convincing fashion on Saturday with a 47-20 victory over the Michigan Vikings.

The Wolves (2-0) opened the season a week ago with another lopsided win when they beat Capital City 40-17.

After a bye week, the Wolves will play July 31 in their home opener at Thirlby Field. The home opener will start at 7 p.m.

In Saturday's win, quarterback Aaron James had another strong game with three touchdowns. He was 12-for-20 passing for 166 yards.

James' favorite target was receiver Josh Tomaszewski, who hauled in five catches for 56 yards.

Brandon Anderson ran seven times for 49 yards and also tallied five tackles on defense.

The defense was tough once again for TC with linebacker Tyler Alpers leading the way with 11 tackles.

Ryan Brown had nine tackles and a sack, Karey Morrow had seven tackles and a sack, Darnell Wilson had seven tackles and a forced fumble while Mike Bowen had two sacks.
