Dental student Jaime Richards and pediatric resident Dr. Samuel Blanchard, both of Cadillac, have each been awarded $2,500 from the Ardis-Lueder Northern Lower Michigan Endowed Scholarship Fund.

The fund was established with a gift from Dr. Michael Lueder, who credited the late Dr. Charles Ardis with establishing the fund to provide scholarships for dental students from Wexford, Missaukee and Osceola counties to help them complete their education and return to the area to practice dentistry.

It is funded through the Cadillac Area Community Foundation.

Richards is a first-year dental student at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.

Blanchard will finish his pediatric dentistry education in December at U-M and receive a certificate and a master's degree.
