Bake sale will help injured veteran

Traverse City — A bake sale will take place at three locations to help a Traverse City veteran who was injured recently.

After surviving two tours in Iraq, Traverse City resident Matt Frugé was injured while clearing trees in September near Elk Lake. He is recovering, but will be unable to return to work until spring at the earliest.

The fundraiser will help the family with expenses while he recovers.

"Matt's Big Big Bake Sale" will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, at Bill Marsh GM, 1621 S. Garfield, Traverse City; Bill Marsh Ford, 408 M-72 West, Kalkaska; and at the Boyne City Eagle's Club, 106 River St.

In addition to baked-good donations, organizers also would like to collect items for a silent auction. Baked goods or silent auction items should be dropped off by Thursday, Dec. 16, at either Bill Marsh location or the Boyne City Eagles.
