Sarah Bancroft, MD, formerly a sports medicine specialist in the Detroit area, has joined the Creekside Sports Medicine Institute in Traverse City.
While in the Detroit area, Dr. Bancroft served as a team physician for Wayne State University, where she worked primarily with WSU football, basketball and hockey dealing with sports-related injuries and providing team members with primary care.
At Creekside, Dr. Bancroft joins Jennifer Lyon, DO, in providing a broad spectrum of sports medicine care for all types of athletes as well as providing primary care for patients of all ages. Creekside Sports Medicine Institute is located at 1225 W. Front St. The clinic can be reached at 935-0788.

Crystal Flash Energy and Save-A-Lot Foods recently sponsored an American Red Cross Blood Drive. The two-day drive resulted in a total of 155 productive units and there were three first-time donors each day.
Donors who reached new gallon levels were: one gallon -- Kristin M. The Traverse Health Clinic received a $5,000 Oral Health Initiatives Grant from the Michigan Dental Association Foundation. The grant funds will be used to help with the purchase of an intra-oral camera, flat-screen monitor and educational materials.
