Radiosurgery device

Traverse City — Munson Medical Center will hold a public open house from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Oct. 3, for its new stereotactic radiosurgery device.

The open house will be in the SRS Suite, across from the hospital's Conference Center in the lower level.

The Truebeam STx stereotactic device will allow northern Michigan residents to receive state-of-the-art cancer care close to home and offers advanced technologies to treat a wide range of cancer patients.

Candidate forum

Suttons Bay — The Leelanau Unit of the League of Women Voters GTA will host a candidate forum on Wednesday, Oct. 10.

The forum will feature Leland Township Supervisor candidates Calvin Little (R) and Susan Och (D) at 7 p.m. at the Leelanau County Government Center, 8527 E. Government Center Dr.

Grief support

Bellaire — "Living with Loss ... Healing Through Group Support," a conversational approach to grief support, will meet at 1:30 p.m. six Wednesdays, Oct. 3-Nov. 7, at the Bellaire Senior Center, 308 E. Cayuga. Attendance at all meetings is not necessary. Call 935-8491 to learn more.

Small farm tour

Benzonia — Grow Benzie will offer a small farm tour Saturday, Oct. 6. Registrations are due Friday, Oct. 5.

Jigsaw puzzle sale

Benzonia — A used jigsaw puzzle sale will raise money for Friends of the Benzonia Public Library projects.

Sale hours are 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Mills Community House, 891 U.S. 31; call 882-4111.

Gallery exhibit

Maple City — T.E.A.M. Gallery will feature an exhibit of paintings by Steven Walker and vintage photographs and paintings from the family collection of Lake Leelanau resident Kay Osborne.

The exhibit opens at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6. The gallery is located at Michigan Traders Compound, 497 M-22. Hours are noon to 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.

Fall Fun Days

Kingsley — Rainbow of Hope Farm will host Fall Fun Days on three Saturdays in October.

Rainbow of Hope is a nonprofit work site and residence for developmentally disabled adults.

Fall Fun Day dates are Oct. 6, 13 and 20. Activities include hayrides 2-6:30 p.m., haunted hayrides 6:30-10:30 p.m., a mini corn maze, and food. Hayrides are $3 per person. The Oct. 20 event also will include music 5-8 p.m. by One Accord.

Live dance music

Benzie County — K Jones and the Benzie Playboys, a guest band and the Platte Plains Wolf Pack will play for a Fan Appreciation Barn Dance Saturday, Oct. 6.

The dance will start at 6 p.m. at 841 S. Pioneer Road, next to St. Ambrose Cellars. The guest band will perform at 8 p.m., followed by the Playboys at 9 p.m. and the Wolf Pack at 11 p.m.
