Water Trail plan
ELK RAPIDS — The Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy recently received a Coastal Zone Management grant to develop a water trail plan for the region. The plan will be discussed at a meeting today at the Old Village Hall meeting room.
The meeting from 5:30-7:30 p.m. will offer an opportunity for community involvement. There also will be a program on Trail Towns, discussing the link between trail systems.
WILLIAMSBURG — The Acme Christian Thrift Store and Food Pantry (ACTS) will celebrate its one-year anniversary at its new location with a Community Appreciation Celebration from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19. ACTS is located at 8925 M-72 East.
Craft and Bake Fair

Relay for Life
KALEVA — Kaleva Crusaders & Friends Relay for Life team will hold a chili and soup lunch from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Kaleva Lion’s Den. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.’
Lap harp class
TRAVERSE CITY — Marilyn Wares will introduce the tranquility lap harp in a class from 1:30-3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20. The class is free and harps will be provided. No musical experience is needed. For details, to register or for class location, call Wares, 223-4895.
TRAVERSE CITY — Life Academy at Northwestern Michigan College will offer a four-session World Religions class.
