Andrew Trautman heading to Dayton
ELK RAPIDS — Andrew Trautman will sign his national letter of intent today to play football at the University of Dayton.
The senior started at quarterback for the Elks the last three seasons.
Dayton is in the Pioneer League and is a FCS — formerly Division I-AA. Trautman plans on studying engineering and will receive an academic scholarship.
YMCA to host lacrosse classes
TRAVERSE CITY — The GT Bay YMCA will host drop-in lacrosse classes on Saturday nights.
The classes will be for both beginners and experience players in grades 1-8. Boys and girls are welcome.
There will be classes from 6-7 p.m. for younger players and 7-8 for older players on Feb. 9, 16 and 23, as well as March 9, 16 and 23.

TC Central hosts 2-event track meet
TRAVERSE CITY — There will be a two-event track meet at TC Central on Saturday.
Athletes can participate in the high jump or shot put. The meet does qualify for the individual state championship meet. Cost is $5.
The meet starts at 5 p.m. Girls will go first in the high jump with boys throwing the shot put first. No spikes are allowed on the gym floor.

College prep summit today at TC Central
TRAVERSE CITY — TC Central will host a college prep summit, focusing on recruiting, tonight at 7 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.
The panel discussion is free for students and families in grades 7-12.
Softball clinic held at TC West
TRAVERSE CITY — Grand Rapids Community College will run a softball clinic at TC West on Feb. 9-10.
There will be pitching and catching sessions on Saturday at West Middle School from 4:30-6:30 p.m., while Sunday's session will be at the high school from 11 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. All levels of athletes are encouraged to play.

Mountain bike film showing at gallery
TRAVERSE CITY — There will be a showing of "Revival The Path," a mountain bike documentary on March 6 at InsideOut Gallery.
The film follows riders across a 36-day bike trip, spanning four continents. It is the followup film to "Ride The Divide."

Posler traded to Soo Firehawks
HOLLAND — Traverse City native John Posler was traded Tuesday from the Holland River Bandits to the Soo Firehawks in the Midwest Junior Hockey League.
That means the 18-year-old goalie will suit up with the Firehawks play the Hartland Hounds in a March 1 game at Centre ICE in Traverse City.
