WHITMORE LAKE — Paul Deemer, age 38, of Whitmore Lake, passed away on Jan. 13, 2013. Paul was born on July 26, 1974, in Traverse City, to Benjamin and Lois (Barber) Deemer.
Paul was a woodworker and outdoorsman, enjoying most to do these things with his children. Paul had a farming heritage which he continued with a small hobby farm.
Paul was the epitome of a devoted father and husband. He loved God and family; everything else was secondary.
Paul was a member of Old St. Pat Catholic Church, St. Thomas Catholic Church and St. Thomas Knights of Columbus. He was a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
Paul was the Chief Financial Officer of Conifer Insurance.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Erin; and his seven adoring children, Rose, Catherine, Anne, John Paul, Benedict, Fulton and Teresa. He is also survived by his loving parents Ben and Lois Deemer; his in-laws, Gary and Kathy Wilson; his caring brothers, Matthew Deemer and Jaymie (Sarah) Deemer; and his grandmother, Norma Deemer. He also is survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Eileen Barber; his grandfather, Clare Deemer; and uncle, Michael Deemer.
The family will gather with friends today, Jan. 16, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m., and Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m., with a rosary recitation at 7 p.m., at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Hamburg Chapel. A healing farewell will be held on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 530 Elizabeth Street, Ann Arbor, MI, at 9 a.m. visitation followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial.
