GOWEN — Mr. Richard Charles Peacock, age 73, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012. He was born Jan. 9, 1939, in Springdale, the son of Robert and Beatrice (Lincoln) Peacock.
He was a longtime General Motors (Alpine) employee, retiring after 30 years of employment, and was a member of the United Auto Workers union.
He was a talented musician, especially enjoying playing his clarinet at area jam sessions. He also enjoyed dancing.
He attended Spencer Mills Church in Gowen.
Dick is survived by his wife, Rose Kidder-Peacock (nee DiPiazza), of Gowen; children, Michael (Vikki) Peacock, of Kentwood, Lourelle (John) McKnight, of Grand Rapids, and Christopher Peacock, of Grand Rapids; stepchildren, Dr. David (Lynn) Kidder, of Montana, Timothy (Patricia) Kidder, of Sparta, Nancy (Dr. Gerald) Harriman, of Muskegon, and Patricia (Steve) Dooley, of Grandville; grandchildren, Jacob and Daniel Peacock, Sam and Joe McKnight, Jasmine Johnson and Alexis and Miles Peacock; 12 step grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Lee Zies and Sharon Radoaski.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Jack Peacock; and sister, Muriel Gaddy.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Spencer Mills Church, 12710 17 Mile Road, Gowen, with the Rev. Alan Flowers officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville.
Private interment will be in Rosedale Memorial Park.
