Prep Basketball Roundup: Boss sparks Rayders to 41-39 win

PETOSKEY — Madeline Boss scored with 10 seconds remaining off an in-bounds play to lift Charlevoix to a 41-39 non-league win over Petoskey on Tuesday night.

Boss finished with 14 points and eight rebounds for the Rayders (6-5), who host Kalkaska on Friday. Gabby Gray contributed 13 points, three assists and two steals.

Kati Lewis netted 14 points for Petoskey (1-9), which led by 11 at half. She hit four 3-pointers in the first quarter. Petoskey travels to Traverse City West tonight.

Kingsley 50

Suttons Bay 30

Autumn Goggin’s 19 points and 13 rebounds led Kingsley to a 50-30 Northwest Conference win over Suttons Bay.

Lily Travis added 12 points and Lily Rawlings eight for Kingsley (9-4, 6-2).

Samara Slocombe scored 10 points and Delaney Kaufman nine for the Norse.

Frankfort 50

Benzie Central 37

Unbeaten Frankfort pulled away in the second half for a 50-37 Northwest Conference win over Benzie Central.

The Panthers led 20-19 at the break.

Mackenna Kelly netted 16 points for Frankfort. Sara Goodchild and Mariah Hanson scored eight points apiece for Benzie (2-9).

Lake Leelanau SM 42

Northport 37

Hannah Weber’s 21 points and six rebounds carried Lake Leelanau St. Mary to a 42-37 Cherryland Conference win over Northport.

Weber scored 11 of her points in the first half as the Eagles were clinging to a 20-19 lead. St. Mary (5-6) trailed 29-28 after three quarters.

Autumn Huck netted 15 points for Northport.

Gaylord SM 40

Johannesburg 33

Gaylord St. Mary opened a 10-point lead at half and then held off Johannesburg-Lewiston for a 40-33 Ski Valley win.

The Snowbirds (11-1, 8-0) built a 22-12 lead at the break. The Cardinals (9-3, 6-3) pulled to within four in the fourth quarter.

Kari Borowiak scored 18 points and Bekah Myler 12 for St. Mary, which travels to Onaway on Thursday. Brittany Cherwinski tossed in 10 points and Madison Showerman eight for the Cardinals, who travel to Forest Area on Thursday. Showerman also had eight rebounds.

Grayling 49

Roscommon 37

Sam Denno had 15 points and 17 rebounds as Grayling posted a 49-37 non-league win over Roscommon.
