Benzie lecture

BENZONIA — Claudia Rogers Bailey will discuss “The History of Chimney Corners Resort” at the next program in the Benzonia Academy Lecture Series.

Kingsley Lions

TSO concert

TRAVERSE CITY — The Northwestern Michigan College Grand Traverse Chorale, Chamber Singers and Children’s Choir will join the Traverse Symphony Orchestra for two performances of its “Home for the Holidays” concert.

The TSO will perform a selection of holiday music at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at Lars Hockstad Auditorium in Central Grade School, 301 Seventh St. In addition, Interlochen Public Radio morning host Kate Bello will narrate ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.”

Dance performance

TRAVERSE CITY — The Dance Center of Traverse City and Kalkaska will host its Holiday Concert on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Performances are at 2 and 6:30 p.m. at Milliken Auditorium in the Dennos Museum Center, 1410 College Dr. More than 100 dancers will present a variety of dance selections with a holiday theme. In addition the Grand Traverse Show Chorus will perform holiday classics. Tickets are $12 each. They are available by calling 947-6820 or at the door.

Visit with Santa

EAST JORDAN — Santa Claus will visit with area children from noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at the East Jordan Community Pool. Santa won’t be swimming, but there will be open swimming for $2.

Brunch served

CENTRAL LAKE — The Central Lake Area Historical Society invites the public to brunch from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14. Reservations are not required. For details including the location, call 599-2328 or 544-6314.
