---- — TRAVERSE CITY — A fundraiser Saturday seeks to help the family of an Interlochen man who recently underwent a liver transplant.
Keith Schaub received the transplant in mid-June after a frightening decline in his health. The surgery was performed at the University of Michigan.
Schaub’s family is thankful for the fundraiser at the VFW Hall, 3400 Veterans Drive. The Sloppy Joe Luncheon runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Desserts are being donated by Sara Lee and Moomer’s ice cream. There will also be a number of silent auction items provided by the community and local businesses, including door prizes.
The cost is $6 per person and children 2 and under are free. A blog, www.theschaubreport.com, provides more information on Schaub’s journey to recovery.
