— ‘Into the Woods’
LELAND — Leland Public School’s Musical Theatre Department will stage “Into the Woods.”
The production opens at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 2, at the Leland Performing Arts Center, with additional performances on Friday and Saturday, May 3-4, and Thursday through Saturday, May 9-11. ‘Off the Wall’ film
ALDEN — The “Off the Wall” film series will screen “Good Will Hunting” on Thursday, May 2.

IAA Choir concert
TRAVERSE CITY — The Interlochen Arts Academy Choir will give a concert Saturday, May 4, at Central United Methodist Church, 222 Cass St.
The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. The choir will be joined by organist Tom Bara, baritone Jeffrey Norris and mezzo-soprano Aidan Soder. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted for the church’s music ministry.
Drum circle Saturday
ELK RAPIDS — The Elk Rapids Library will sponsor “Drummunity-Rhythmic Fun for Everyone” at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the Elk Rapids Middle School cafeteria. The drum circle is free and open to all ages.
BENZONIA — The Benzie Area Zonta Club will host an “Inner Beauty” empowerment workshop for girls 12 and older and their female relatives.
Award-winning Michigan advocate/author, journalist and speaker Denise Crittendon will lead the workshop from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the Benzonia Township Hall on U.S. 31 at Traverse Avenue. There is no charge, but reservations are appreciated; call 620-8052.
Fair concert tickets
BIG RAPIDS — Tickets are on sale for a concert by Restless Heart on July 11 at the Mecosta County Free Fair.

Eat out, help BACN
BENZIE COUNTY — Area residents can dine out on Tuesday, May 7, and help Benzie Area Christian Neighbors.
The Sleeping Bear Inn on Main Street in Frankfort and the Thistle Pub at Crystal Mountain Resort in Thompsonville will donate a portion of each receipt that day to BACN, the largest food and clothing pantry in Benzie County.
Everest slide show
TRAVERSE CITY — Sara Cockrell will host a slide show of the Everest High Passes as a benefit for the International Porter Protection Group and Sir Edmund Hillary’s Himalayan Trust.
From 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, the audience will join Cockrell on her trek with with World Expeditions. The program will be at Backcountry North, 2820 N. U.S. 31 South. A $10 donation is suggested.

Art park clean-up
THOMPSONVILLE — Saturday, May 4, is spring clean-up day at Michigan Legacy Art Park on the grounds of Crystal Mountain Resort.
