Courthouse to get new locks

TRAVERSE CITY — Grand Traverse County commissioners will vote on an expenditure of roughly $22,000 to install nearly 75 new locks in the county’s courthouse.

County facilities officials recommended the work go to Traverse City-based Allen Supply.

The court building is more than 100 years old.

Locks installation will occur as county officials continue to raise funds aimed at restoration of the courthouse’s clocktower and bell, which fell silent in 2008.
