East Jordan — The Martha Wagbo Farm and Education Center will host "Wassail: A Potluck and Winter Celebration."
Wassailing is a rural tradition of toasting to the health of an orchard for a bountiful crop. The tradition includes a feast and libations followed by a procession to the orchard for the toast and a torchlighting.
The celebration on Saturday, Jan. 12, will start with a 6 p.m. potluck at the farm, 5745 N. M-66, and wassailing at 7 p.m. followed by a sledding party. Attendees may bring a dish to pass for the meal.

Winter Trails Day
Traverse City — Timber Ridge Resort, TART Trails, Vasa Ski Club and Brick Wheels will co-host Winter Trails Day Saturday, Jan. 12, at Timber Ridge, 4050 E. Hammond Road.
Activities from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. include free use of the trails, introductory ski lessons starting at 11:30 a.m., guided snowshoe hikes and use of equipment rentals for those new to winter trail sports on a first come, first served basis. Chili and warm beverages will be available to purchase.

Traverse City — Aviation Explorers Post M-22 and the U.S. Coast Guard of Traverse City will host an All Aviation Expo on Saturday, Jan. 12.
The event will held 9 a.m.-noon at the Traverse City Airport Coast Guard Hanger on Airport Access Road. All aviation enthusiasts are welcome, especially families with children in the 13- to 20-year-old range with an interest in the sciences and flight. Lunch will be available in the Coast Guard mess hall at military rates.
