Officials: Man asked boys to get in his car

Grand Traverse County Sheriff's officials are looking for a man who tried to kidnap two young boys playing in their yard in the Holiday Hills area.

The man asked the boys, ages 8 and 9, if they wanted to get into his car at around 5 p.m. on New Year's Eve. The boys said no and ran away, according to a sheriff's report.

The man is described as an Asian in his mid 40s, with thick, black square glasses and pitted skin. He was driving a purple 1990 or 1991 Honda or Lexus.

If you have any information, call the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Department's Tip Line at 947-8477.
