TRAVERSE CITY — Claire Elizabeth Johnson of Traverse City and Karl Anthony Skiba of Alpena were united in marriage on Oct. 20, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Anthony Citro from Immaculate Conception Church officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony.
Emily Aldrich of Boulder, Colo., attended her friend as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Claire’s sisters, Amity Aebig and Hannah Johnson, both of Traverse City, Amy Johnson of Macomb, Lindy Shelley of Chicago, and Emily Johnson of Royal Oak; and friends, Alex Alward of Austin, Texas, and ReAnn Gorton of Traverse City. Ruby Aebig and Kate Pierson, both of Traverse City, were flower girls.
Adam Carpenter of Marquette served as his friend’s best man. Groomsmen were Karl’s brothers, Greg Skiba of Kalamazoo and Pete Skiba of Winter Garden, Fla., and friends, Bill Johnson of Battle Creek, Tom Grace of Royal Oak, T.J. Carpenter of Marquette, Phil Flesher of Gaylord and Nick Stanek of Traverse City. Ushers were Brian Campbell of Muskegon and Adam Hainstock of Alpena, both friends of the groom.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds greeted guests at a reception hosted at Timberlee Hills. They honeymooned in Riviera Maya, Mexico, and recently purchased their first home in Grand Blanc.
Claire is the daughter of Eric and Donna Johnson of Traverse City. She received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ferris State University and currently is employed as a financial aid specialist at Baker College.
Karl is the son of Pete and Lynne Skiba of Alpena. He received a bachelor’s degree in human biology from Michigan State University and currently is employed as a medical sales representative.
