HOUGHTON — Lauren Marie Ruotsala of Houghton and Rudolph Daniel Prokes of Traverse City were united in marriage on May 25, 2013, at St. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church. The Rev. David J. Weber officiated at the 1 p.m. nuptials.
Kathryn M. Kokkila of Houghton attended her cousin as maid of honor. Lauren’s bridesmaids were her sisters, Stephanie Ruotsala, Erika Ruotsala and Stacy Ruotsala, all of Houghton.
Rudoph chose his brothers, Ian and Joey Prokes, both of Traverse City, to serve as his best men. Derek Drelles of Traverse City was groomsman. Andrew Kokkila, Michael Kokkila and Ben Kokkila, all of Houghton, were ushers.
Following the wedding, a reception was hosted at the Brownstone Hall in Atlantic Mine, Mich. The newlyweds honeymooned in Las Vegas and are living in Howard, Wis.
Lauren is the daughter of Steven and Andrea Ruotsala of Houghton. She graduated from Houghton High School and received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Finlandia University in Houghton. Lauren is a registered nurse in outpatient surgery at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Green Bay, Wis.
Rudolph is the son of John and Deanna Prokes of Traverse City. He graduated from Traverse City Central High School and received a bachelor of science degree in computer systems science from Michigan Technological University. Rudolph is a computer applications consultant at Humana Insurance Co., in Green Bay.
