BELLAIRE — Sarah Besaw of Kalkaska and Rock Dudek of Wilmette, Ill., were married on July 27, 2013, at Shanty Creek Resort. Retired minister the Rev. Ted Turanksi, Sarah’s childhood pastor from St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kalkaska, officiated at the 4 p.m. nuptials.
Sarah’s lifelong friend, Melody Champion of New York, attended her as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Camilla Welsch of Cleveland and Amelia Hamilton of Traverse City. The groom’s nieces, Lily Jane Kerwin and Mairead Jensen, both of Wilmette, were the flower girls.
Mitch Dudek of Chicago served as his brother’s best man. Mike Dudek and John Dudek, both brother’s of the groom from Chicago, were groomsmen. The groom’s nephews, Finnian and Michael Jensen, both of Wilmette, were ring bearers.
The newlyweds greeted guests at a reception hosted at the wedding site. They are living in Chicago.
Sarah is the daughter of Jerry and Ellen Besaw of Kalkaska. She graduated from Kalkaska High School and received a bachelor of arts degree in political science from City College of New York, N.Y.
Rock is the son of Mitchell and Diane Dudek of Wilmette, Ill. He graduated from Loyola Academy in Wilmette and received a bachelor of arts degree in English from Fairfield University in Fairfield, Conn.
The couple own and operate Coach Rock Sports and Games Clinics and Classes throughout New York and the metropolitan area.
