TRAVERSE CITY — Jill Marie Hemming of Traverse City and Benjamin James Anderson of Waterford, Mich., were united in marriage on Aug. 17, 2013, at Twin Lakes Pavilion. The Rev. Devon Herrell officiated at the 2:30 p.m. nuptials.
Jill chose her sisters, Ann Hemming of Los Angeles and Jessie Hemming of Ann Arbor, as her maids of honor. Bridesmaids were friends of the bride, Kacie Bogard of Traverse City, Megan McGovern of Holland, Mich., and Stephanie Hall of Ann Arbor, and the groom’s sister, Liz Furlong of Minneapolis. The groom’s twin nieces, Anni and Elli Anderson of Elizabethtown, Ky., were the flower girls.
Luke Anderson of Elizabethtown, Ky., served as his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Joe Anderson of Rochester Hills, Mark Seal of Royal Oak, Ted Pickus of Chicago and Drew Kircher of Hong Kong, all friends of the groom; and Steve Winters of Ann Arbor, a friend of the bride and groom. Ushers were Dan Harrah of Chicago and Kevin Reed of Denver, both friends of the groom.
Following an evening reception at Timberlee Hills Banquet Center, the newlyweds honeymooned in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. They are living in Ann Arbor.
Jill is the daughter of William and Elizabeth Hemming of Traverse City. She graduated from Traverse City West Senior High School, received a bachelor’s degree in social work from Michigan State University, and graduated from the University of Michigan with a master’s degree in social work. Jill is employed as a school social worker with Waterford Public Schools.
Benjamin is the son of Richard and Deborah Anderson of Waterford. A graduate of Waterford Kettering High School, he received a bachelor of arts degree, with a major in political science and also teaching certification secondary education in social studies and Spanish from the University of Michigan. Benjamin is employed by Waterford Public Schools as a secondary education teacher.
