GLEN ARBOR — Authorities are investigating after a bomb blew up an outhouse in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
Leelanau County Sheriff Mike Borkovich said an outdoor toilet valued about $14,000 was "blown apart" in an explosion early Sunday. National Parks Service rangers are leading the investigation with assistance from a Michigan State Police bomb squad, an FBI bomb technician and Leelanau County sheriff's deputies.
"They don't have a suspect yet," Borkovich said.
The bomb incident does not appear connected to two federal raids on properties in Sutton Bay and Leland Township on Oct. 4, Borkovich said.
