---- — Proud of our local care
My wife recently fell, injuring her right eye and bruising her arm and leg. I took her to our local hospital, Paul Oliver Memorial, where she had X-rays and examination. She was seen by a nurse and physician assistant. It was suggested she see our family physician, Dr. Thomas Auer, the following day. He wasn’t available that day; we saw his partner, Dr. Edward Kalat. Dr. Kalat referred us to plastic surgeon, Dr. Christopher C. Jeffries and optometrist, Dr. Richard Abbott (Grand Traverse Ophthalmology Clinic).
Within three days my wife was seen by five health care professionals. All were careful to examine her and explain her injuries, what should be done and why. We were very impressed with Dr. Jeffries, who took time to show us the X-rays, explaining just what was broken and why we might wait for Mother Nature to fix things. He suggested we see him in one week to make sure things were healing correctly.
We’re proud of our local health care. My wife had a serious injury that was thoroughly evaluated. We were told what was wrong, what therapy was appropriate. We need to protect this system in the future.
Mindset reeks of GOP
A recent article titled “An impeachable act” by Doug Davenport claims that Obama and his staff committed a cowardly, unforgivable impeachment act “when they allowed our ambassador and members of his military guard to be heinously slaughtered by thugs.”
This mindset reeks of GOP and “Fakes News” whiners and their fixation on the Benghazi attack and the partisan propaganda spewed while hacking together their own version of events to further convolute the story. It is Fox News that is predictably helming the biggest raft of hooey on the Benghazi situation.
Why are these obnoxious, opportunistic liars so obsessed about one attack while ignoring the dozen-plus U.S. embassy and consulate attacks while Bush and Cheney were in office?
One has to wonder where Mr. Davenport was when Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld, the exemplars of failure, were “keeping us safe.” Thirteen consulate/embassy attacks (on their watch) with 93 killed and 112 injured is their tally, but then, the “sitting president” obviously didn’t deem conditions “so out of control” that closing any embassy was warranted.
There is certainly no shortage here with “the pot calling the kettle black.”
