---- — KALKASKA — Brad Rizzo and Noah Jeakle each shot an 81 Monday to lead Charlevoix to victory in a Lake Michigan Conference golf match at Twin Birch.
The Rayders finished with a 344, Kalkaska 348 and St. Francis 357.
Kalkaska’s Bryce Hunter and St. Francis’ Parker Guss each fired an 82.
Suttons Bay wins jamboree at Leland
Sean Lammy’s 39 sparked Suttons Bay to a win in a Northwest Conference jamboree at Leland.
The Norsemen finished with a 167, Leland 176, Glen Lake 197, Mesick 200, Frankfort 220, Benzie Central 231 and Kingsley 232.
In addition to Lammy’s 39, Davin Capron and Mason Rohrback each carded a 42 and Brent Duddles and Eric Chapman a 44 for Suttons Bay.
Leland’s Joel Sneed was medalist with a 36. Glen Lake’s Mike O’Brien came in at 39 and Mesick’s Alex Stanton 41.
The Frankfort jamboree is scheduled for Wednesday.
Harbor Springs 1
Elk Rapids 0
Rhi Cullip scored the game’s only goal as Harbor Springs prevailed 1-0 in a Lake Michigan Conference battle of unbeaten teams.
Cullip’s goal came with 22 minutes remaining.
Paige Granger made 14 saves for the Elks, who fall to 8-1-1 overall and 7-1 in LMC play. Elk Rapids travels Thursday to Grayling.

Megan Michalski scored her first career goal as the Traverse City Liberty topped Boyne City 4-0 in Lake Michigan Conference action.
Suzanne Britten added two goals and Annie Lyman one. Rachel Burns, Lyman and Britten had assists.
The Liberty had a 14-2 advantage in shots on goal, and Logen Poniatoski stopped both shots she faced. The Liberty (3-5, 3-4 LMC) hosts Charlevoix on Thursday.
Glen Lake 7
Benzie Central 0
Ty Fessell scored a hat trick as Glen Lake notched a 7-0 Northwest Conference victory over Benzie Central.
Madison Alonzi, Alex LaCrosse, Clare Slack and Hollie Dowd had single goals each for the Lakers, while Arden Braund and Gemma Leask split time in goal.
Glen Lake (5-5-1, 4-0-1 NWC) travels Wednesday to Kingsley, while the Huskies travel to Kalkaska.

Libby Munoz had five points — including four goals — in Leland’s 8-0 mercy of Mason County Eastern.
Whitney Schaub added a goal and two assists, Miranda Harrison scored one goal and set up another and Lydia Gulow had a goal for the Comets (8-4), who host Suttons Bay on Wednesday.
Andrea Hunt and Noa Yaakoby split time in net.
Seven different Charlevoix players scored in an 8-0 Lake Michigan Conference win over Kalkaska.
Senior forward Hannah Herboldsheimer netted two goals for the Rayders while Bailee Stevens, Anna Way, Kaitlin Hinkley, Katie Kiteley, Ellie Way and Kylee Scholten had one. Katie Kitely picked up two assists.
Bailee Stevens and Gloria Greene shared the shutout for the Rayders (9-3, 7-2).

Mancelona 2 6
Johannesburg-Lewiston and Mancelona split a twinbill with the Cardinals taking the opener 3-2 and the Ironmen the nightcap 6-2.
Jake Newell was the winning pitcher in game one, Cody Derrer in game two. Wyatt Derrer collected three hits and Cole VanWagoner two in the nightcap for the Ironmen (6-2). Each drove in a run. VanWagoner also collected two hits in the opener. Mancelona hosts Charlevoix on Wednesday.

Adam Nowicki belted a bases-loaded triple to key Gaylord St. Mary’s 13-6 win over Central Lake in the nightcap of a Ski Valley doubleheader.
Nick Harrington added three hits and three RBIs in the win. Matt Spyhalski earned the win.
The Snowbirds (6-4, 6-4) took the opener 7-2 as Brendon Nowicki tossed a three-hitter. Nick Lochinski, Adam Nowicki and Pat O’Connor all had two hits.
St. Mary is at Ellsworth on Thursday.

Sam Clark celebrated his birthday with three hits while Zac Zoutendam added two as the Traverse City West JV defeated Petoskey 12-2 in the nightcap of a doubleheader.
Kyle Bailey earned the win.
Petoskey won the opener 2-0. West’s Brett Hines pitched a one-hitter, striking out 11, in the loss. Reid Bailey had a hit and four stolen bases for the Titans (12-4), who host Glen Lake on Thursday.

Suttons Bay JV 6 0
Cam Fewless pitched a one-hit shutout as the Traverse City Central freshmen completed a sweep with a 7-0 win over the Suttons Bay JV in the nightcap of a doubleheader.
Griffin Censer and Cayden Nichols led the Trojan attack with two hits in game two.
Central (6-4) won the opener 8-6 as Fewless and Logan Briggs collected two hits apiece. Dawson Rabb picked up the win. Central plays Kingsley on Friday.

Johannesburg 2 1
Mancelona improved to 8-0 with 4-2 and 9-1 Ski Valley wins over Johannesburg-Lewiston.
Kallie Derrer pitched the two seven-inning wins, striking out a combined 15.
Logan Allen paced the Mancelona attack with three hits in game one while Lindsey Friend and Haley Ackler added two. Kallie Derrer helped her own cause with two hits, including a two-run homer, in game two. Dakota Derrer added a two-run triple. Taylor Robbins finished with three hits and Ackler two. Mancelona hosts Charlevoix in Wednesday.

Kari Borowiak had five hits while Savanna Sullivan and Jada Bebble each had four in Gaylord St. Mary’s 11-1 and 12-3 Ski Valley Conference sweep of Central Lake.
Sullivan also struck out seven in the opener, giving up only four hits. Katie Rutkowski, Chrissy Smith, Borowiak, Bebble and Sullivan had two hits each, with Sullivan, Borowiak and Bebble cracking doubles and Bebble driving in three runs. All nine Snowbirds starters had at least one base hit.
Caylee Lawnichak, Sullivan and Bebble had two hits each in the nightcap, with Borowiak adding three and striking out six on the mound.
Allie Hines had two hits in the opener for the Trojans (5-5, 2-4) while Morgan Scott and Channing Hoogerhyde collected two hits in the nightcap.
Central Lake plays Glen Lake on Wednesday. St. Mary (7-1, 7-1) hosts Ellsworth on Thursday in its first non-conference action of the season.

Katie Millard struck out 14 and earned wins in both contests of Bear Lake’s doubleheader sweep against Pentwater.
Katelyn Adams tripled twice in the 15-0 opener, driving in two runs. McKenna Fink doubles and drove in a run and Briann Bowling was 2 for 3 with two runs driven in.
Emileigh Ferguson had a huge game in the 18-0 nightcap, going 3 for 4 with a hoem run, double and five RBIs. Fink drove in two more runs and Nicole Girven was 2 for 2 with a double and four RBIs.
The Lakers (10-7, 7-3 West Michigan D League) host Traverse City Christian on Thursday.

Emily Jenkins struck out 10 in the opening-game of Traverse City Central JV’s doubleheader sweep of Traverse City Christian.
She allowed only two hits in the 4-0 victory. Sydney Klavon had two hits and scored three runs. Mackinze Berg had two hits for Christian.
Cate Young and Jenkins shared pitching duties in the 7-5 nightcap, and Mariah Bensley and Klavon led the Trojan (8-4) defense. Maddie White had three hits and Sarah Hebert two for the Sabres (3-9), who host Brethren today.

Isabel Lutz pulled out a 1-4, 4-1, 10-8 at No. 1 singles as the Traverse City Central Black defeated Traverse City Christian 7-1.
Also victorious for the Trojans: Abbey Kaufman (6-1, 6-2), Andrea Longton (6-2, 6-1), Angela Amalfitano (6-0, 6-1), Kayla Hilner and Caroline Gardner (6-0, 6-0), Kaitlin McLintock and Shannon Weaver (6-1, 6-0), Molly Smith and Katie Stanton (6-2, 6-0).
Christian’s Amanda Ufer and Katy Mannes took No. 1 doubles (3-6, 6-0, 10-6).
TC Black is at Harbor Springs today.

TC Christian varsity 2
The Traverse City Central JV Gold swept the singles flights in a 6-2 win over Traverse City Christian.
The Trojans received singles wins from Emma Sheldon (6-2, 6-3), Shaina Kalbfleisch (3-6, 6-4, 10-7), Maxine Valesano (6-2, 6-1) and Carly Hernden (6-0, 6-1). Doubles wins came from Taylor Robbins/Melissa Lance (6-1, 7-5) and Kristen Patterson/Dallis Champion (6-2, 6-3).
TC Christian’s victories were by Amanda Ufer/Katy Mannes (6-1, 6-0) and Laura Murray/Kyra Tosiello (7-6, 6-3).
TRACK & FIELD
Forest Area boys 3rd, girls 8th at Joburg
Forest Area’s boys team claimed third place at the Johannesburg-Lewiston Invitational as Jeremy Richards led the way with a pair of first-place finishes.
Richards won the discus with a 134’5” heave and also took the 110 hurdles in 16.84 seconds.
Paul Korn won the long jump with a leap of 18’3” and Justin Burke took the high jump at 5’10”.
Richards, Burke, Eric Keiser and Hayden Hollister were second in the 800 in 1:38.1.
On the girls’ side, Kortni Birgy was second with a throw of 82’4” in the discus and sixth in the shot put (26’7.5”). Heather Jacques was third in the 3,200 (13:15) and Karina Ohneck (6’6”) and Karley Hoggard (6’0”) were third and sixth in the pole vault.
The Warriors head to the Manton Invitational on Friday.
