TRAVERSE CITY — A man with multiple prior drunk driving convictions overturned his motor home in Grand Traverse County while driving drunk, police said.
The identity of the suspect, 55, of Hayden, Colo., was not released pending arraignment.
Sheriff's Capt. Randy Fewless said the man was driving a motor home on Supply Road at Bald Eagle Ridge Drive on Dec. 6 in Union Township when his vehicle went off the roadway at 3:43 p.m. The motorist tried to drive the motor home back onto the road, but the vehicle toppled over.
Deputies measured the man's blood-alcohol content at nearly three times the legal limit. Fewless said the suspect was charged with felony operating under the influence third-offense. The man has multiple prior alcohol-related driving convictions from arrests in Ionia, Traverse City and Leland.
