Prep Sports: Central athletes shine at track meet

Gaylord defeats TC Central in soccer action

TRAVERSE CITY — Host Traverse City Central had several athletes shine at tonight's track meet, which also included teams from Traverse City West, Traverse City St. Francis and Benzie Central.

In girls competition, two Trojan runners won multiple events. Molly Peregrine finished first in the 3200-meter run (11 minutes, 35.56 seconds) and the 1600 (5:24.22), while Courtney Cadotte won the 100 (12.96 seconds) and 200 (27.62).

St. Francis' Holly Bullough finished first in the 400 (1:00.66) and 800 (2:50.10).

In boys events, Trojans Aaron Taylor and Alex Liggett both won a pair of events. Taylor took the high jump (five feet, 11 inches) and long jump (20-7). Liggett won the 110-meter hurdles (14.82) and 200 (23.88).

And in girls soccer, Maddi Hamilla's hat trick led Gaylord to a 4-1 win over TC Central in a Big North Conference clash.
