Detectives investigate meth lab dump site

FIFE LAKE — A citizen tip led Traverse Narcotics Team detectives to a suspected methamphetamine lab dump site inside a Fife Lake area home.

Two suspects lived inside the home until their landlord noticed strong chemical smells and asked them to leave. The landlord noticed suspicious items inside after the couple moved out that TNT officers believe are chemicals and other items commonly used to make meth.

Detectives arrested an Indiana man, 36, on an outstanding felony warrant from his home state and transported him to Kalkaska County's jail. Authorities released a Fife Lake woman, 23, but investigation into the case continues.
